Deli de Luca (Oslo S)
UPDATE 26/08: Like I said in Decor, I ended up back here. Actually, this happened to be my third return to a Deli de Luca in the past three days. One night before setting out on the town, my friend had torn through a pesto calzone. And now, for the third time, we were back in the railroad station. She got a smoothie. And I, seeing it while grabbing that calzone in the city center, had to try the Chocolate Spoon Cake. Yes, you heard me. I came back for it. 54NOK and worth every penny, it was. Well, worth every Norwegian krone anyway. It has been a mighty long time since I have experienced a cake so laden with chocolate, so enriched by the various forms cocoa can take – cake layers, lathery frosting, uprooted chocolate shell topping, clipped side shavings – and so so so heavenly. I got my friend to take a bite. Her words prior – “I’m not really a chocolate fan.” Her words after – “Can you just scoop a little onto the lid – yeah there – and I’ll eat from that?” I’m going to include a link to it from their website below. It has everything from ingredient information to the nutritional values. You can have a go at trying to figure out which Norwegian word means “piece of heaven.”
